Liam Maher, the lead singer for the UK band Flowered Up, died last week. For those of you that weren’t into the “baggy” Manchester scene, Flowered Up (once referred to as the “cockney Happy Mondays” had one seminal track – Weekender. A 13 minute, Madchester anthem that some said was a “My Generation” for the the English rave scene of the late 80’s, early 90’s. The band completely went against the norm by releasing a 13 minute epic single which they refused to allow anyone to edit.
Here it is in two parts.
