Excellent review, my friend.

I always thought -- virtuoso guitarist that he is -- Beck lacked passion. Then I saw him live in concert. The man is certainly one with his instrument, makes it look easy and can generate myriad sounds from his Strat. At the Chastain show last night he rarely spoke into the microphone, but spoke through his guitar. I guess I never understood that. There's a reason the man is in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

On stage, he looked like an alien superhero in his black and white sleeveless jumpsuit and space boots; maybe like all genius musicians and artists, he's not from this world. Oh, and Imelda May just kicked ass! Beck admitted that she made him cry when she sang "Lilac Wine." There was a palpable rapport between Beck and us, the audience. Lovely.

Great stuff.
