The music of legendary Atlanta blues man Willie Lee Perryman (AKA “Piano Red” or “Doctor Feelgood”) will be celebrated with an album release party for The Lost Atlanta Tapes on August 12. Smith’s Olde Bar co-owner Michael Reeves owned the tapes himself, and he’s even booked The Red Rockers, a band featuring musicians who played with Piano Red, to play.
The Industry bring their big stadium rock sound to Smith’s Olde Bar August 13 with Shannon McNally and Hot Sauce.
Rockets to Ruin, PleaseRock‘s Led Zeppelin vs The Who, The Greater Vavoom, The Pelvis Breastlies, James Hall and Ben Deignan have all joined together for a benefit show for ex-Smith’s Olde Bar employee Dave Mega on August 16.
Atlanta’s amazing country rockers The Whiskey Gentry will be playing a sure-to-be rollicking gig on August 20.
The Dirty Guv’nahs bring their rootsy southern rock all the way from Knoxville, Tenn. on August 21.
Rising Nashville star Josh Hoge plays Smith’s Olde Bar with Joe Firstman, Keaton Simons and Matt Duke on August 23.
And, finally, Australia’s Beautiful Girls bring their blend of rock, reggae, pop and folk to Atlanta on August 27.
