One-man folk-psychedelic rock band Six Organs of Admittance is heading to The EARL on August 20. Ben Chasny started his “solo band” in 1997 with a self-released LP in an edition of (a humble) 400, never dreaming that his band, Six Organs, would end up selling 37 times as many records. Now finding his home with Drag City records and after releasing his landmark album, School of the Flower, Chasny has found and mastered a signature blend of drones, chimes and eclectic percussive elements.
Thirteen years after starting to work under the Dntel moniker and almost six years after releasing his last Dntel full-length, Life is Full of Possibilities, James Scott “Jimmy” Tamborello (of The Postal Service), has painstakingly built and birthed Dumb Luck, an album five years in the making. Now, shortly after it’s release, he’s taking to the road and heading to The EARL on August 21.
