You know, once in awhile, you gotta just love being from the South. Something kind of magical lives in this air. Nothing starts a morning better than some coffee, Skynyrd, and a few Atlanta events to get you through the day.

-Minneapolis’ own indie rockers, Tapes n Tapes will be hitting up The Earl tonight, make and check back later for our interview with frontman Josh Grier.

-According to their press release, Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes is a collective, an ensemble, a five person phone booth in which mild mannered classical guy Clark Kent goes in and Johnny The Wild Superman comes out.See this for yourself tonight at Smith’s Olde Bar, where they play with Delta Rae.
-Actor, Tom Hanks, included Eilen Jewell as a “Summer Must” in Entertainment Weekly and she has been featured as “Song of the Day” on NPR. Check her out for yourself tonight at Eddie’s Attic.

The Basement in East Atlanta is just not getting enough credit for all the cool shows they have going on. Make sure and swing by to check out tUnE-yArDs and Pat Jordache.

-Don’t forget you could always try and beat me at Sex, Drugs, & Rock n Roll Trivia at Tin Lizzy’s for Dirty South Trivia‘s weekly competition.
