You guys really are spoiled for choice this weekend. The city’s hip older sibling is hosting a little shindig with some college rock legends, while the still-cool but much-older uncle spoils ale lovers rotten with a sold-out craft beer extravaganza. And between all that, there’s a ton of kick-ass rock shows to boot. Choose wisely, and have fun!

Thursday, October 13 – Saturday, October 15: Athens PopFest at The 40 Watt

You might have missed part of the epic indie pop festival already, but you still have the chance to see Bob Mould, Olivia Tremor Control, Dead Milkmen and Man or Astroman? with our rock ‘n’ roll neighbors to the north.

Thursday, October 13: Cold War Kids at The Buckhead Theatre

The piano-driven rockers bring their sonic sounds to Atlanta tonight.

Thursday, October 13: The War On Drugs at The EARL

The War On Drugs take that beautiful American rock sound and push it a little further with gorgeous soundscapes and shimmering guitars. They play The EARL tonight with Purling Hiss and Carter Tanton.

Thursday, October 13: Grouplove at Masquerade

After a busy year of touring with folks like Florence and the Machine and releasing their debut album last month, Grouplove are reaping the rewards of hard work and infectious songs. Catch them in Atlanta tonight.

Friday, October 14: Duran Duran at Chastain Park Amphitheatre

Everyone’s favorite ’80s pretty boys rounds out the concerts at Chastain on Friday night, with the cooler temps meaning you can slap on an extra layer of purple eyeshadow and an extra spray of Aquanet without having to worry about the melting situation.

Friday, October 14: Noot D’Noot and Judi Chiacgo at Star Bar

We are so excited to welcome back Judi Chicago to their Atlanta home. And what better way to celebrate than with a night of mad dancing and hijinks?
