By now you guys know that we’re way into Milo Greene! Last night, we headed to The Earl, much earlier than usual, for an awesome meet and greet with MG. Two lucky winners had the opportunity to hang with the band before they went on stage. Singer/guitarist, Marlana Sheetz was super friendly and hospitable, event taking the fans on a tour of their van and “green room”! We learned that they’re big fans of Conan O’Brien and really enjoyed playing on his show recently. After photos and more chatting about how great Atlanta’s music scene is, we stepped away to catch Lucius!

Lucius is a 5 piece band with 2 lead, keys -playing, vocalists (in identical sparkly dresses and bows)! Their energy was fun and different, like a sugary-sweet, indie-rock version of the B-52’s. There’s something that draws you in. Maybe it’s the smooth harmonies or the distracting dresses, but it’s easy to like them. Upbeat track, Turn it Around is by far their best and most fun! I look forward to seeing what they can do with a whole album.

After a short break, Milo Green took the stage. While I saw them just a few months ago at Drunken Unicorn, this performance at The Earl reinforced my former impression; this band is so laid back and comfortable on stage. While Robbie Arnett and Graham Fink are typically the vocal leads, Marlana Sheetz’ voice is captivating and haunting, especially when she sings Perfectly Aligned. Other favorites of the night included 1957, Silent Way, and What’s the Matter. Check them out. You’ won’t be disappointed.
