Lydia @ Vinyl

Whether expressing the vicissitudes of a romance run off course or finding one’s soul deep inside his or her thoughts, Lydia crafts its sound with cadence approach that creates the equal allegiance to thunder and quiet found in Leighton Antleman’s (lead vocalist) words, and further solidifies its place as the voice of today’s indie rock generation.

Charlie Hunter and Scott Amendola @ Eddie’s Attic- 7:30pm

Not Getting Behind Is The New Getting Ahead, the renowned guitarist/composer Charlie Hunter’s new duo recording with drummer Scott Amendola, is an album that’s easy to get behind. A complete departure from last year’s Public Domain — a true solo album — and the previous year’s Gentlemen, I Neglected to Inform You You Will Not Be Getting Paid — which incorporated two trombones and trumpet into Hunter’s instrumental arsenal — Not Getting Behind Is The New Getting Ahead is Hunter’s first recording of original compositions in three years. It’s also, perhaps, his most candid and forthright set of songs ever. Nearly all of the songs on Not Getting Behind Is The New Getting Ahead are first takes, played once in the studio and left untouched.

The Alternate Routes @ Eddie’s Attic- 9:30pm

The Alternate Routes’ name suits them well. They’re a band that‘s never really fit in — in a good way. Without a definitive genre to reference or an established scene to rally behind them, they’ve been something of a rogue wave in an ocean of bands. They built a fan base the old fashioned way, by driving around the country in a big, white Ford Econoline van, winning crowds over one-person-at-a-time with solid, catchy songs and an explosive live show.

Jack Daniel’s Honey Concert Series @ Smith’s Olde Bar

Bring your friends and grab some drinks while enjoying live music from Bluesheart (8pm), JK & The Gun Show (9pm) and Reluctant Saints (10pm)!
