Ten minutes into a show by UNZIPT, and you realize this is not your ordinary cover band — this is something original. Gone are the top-40 covers, the disco, and the standard 80s synth-pop. Much to your surprise, you are fed a steady diet of alternative covers from yesterday and today, sandwiched between alternative versions of the unexpected, and before you know it it’s 2am and they’re still going. In the ten years this alternative cover band has been together, UNZIPT has maintained a faithful following on the strength of its high energy, marathon shows, and a unique sound and set list that sets the band apart from all others.
Slip Tripman has been playing in and around Atlanta since 2004. They are the ultimate party band, playing everything from classic motown and rock’n’roll to modern hip-hop and dance music, there isn’t anything that these guys can’t cover. Founded and led by the sole surviving member, Seumus Maley, Slip Tripman now consists of Brian Meyer on vocals, Matt Raskind on guitar, Olaf the Norwegian on guitar, and Mark Carbonne on drums. Be prepared to be surprised, and be even more prepared to not be able to sit down, because Slip Tripman guarantees that you’ll be dancing.
