Tonight’s dress code is layers. Lots of layers. Pile ’em on and go peep these fine shows.
Jacob & the Good People @ Eddie’s Attic
Although Jacob has shared stages with the epic sounds of bands like Dave Mathews Band, Robert Randolph, and Rusted Root, he still creates his simple style of music with the idea that less is more. His music is sparse, quirky, and addictive, and his songs will be hummed for hours after you hear them.
Doors at 9pm. Tickets are $8 in advance. Online and phone sales end at 5pm.
Jerry Joseph @ Eddie’s Attic
Jerry Joseph has worn a lot of hats over more than three decades in the music trenches – righteous rocker, hyper-observant cultural observer, spiritual & political firebrand, force of nature live performer – but the bedrock of what he does has always been songwriting of the highest caliber. Joseph is a kindred tunesmith to pros like Elvis Costello, Warren Zevon and Nick Lowe. The sturdy bones in his compositions shape things no matter what’s draped over them. While Joseph has made acoustic albums in the past, his new self-titled record is his richest, most exposed studio effort to date.
Doors at 6pm. Tickets are $12 in advance. Online and phone sales end at 5pm.
El Fossil @ The EARL
Also Appearing: Brawful, Sioux City Sue
A little bit rock n’ roll, a little bit country… These bands want to party with you, Atlanta. Don’t deny them that.
Doors at 8:30pm. Tickets are $5. Online and phone sales end at 6pm
