The Aquabats! w/ Koo Koo Kanga @ The Loft

With 16 years and album sales of over 270,000 under their belts, SoCal’s The AQUABATS! are back with their brand new album HI-FIVE SOUP!, ready to shine a much-needed light into our lives, and prove once again that The AQUABATS! – led by the fearless MC BAT COMMANDER (Christian Jacobs, co-creator of the hit children’s television series Yo Gabba Gabba!) – are still a musical force to be reckoned with. The 12 track full-length album features guest vocals from hip hop Legend BIZ MARKIE on lead single “RADIO DOWN!”, a dancey-dance track with enough sugar weight to give your ears cavities, as well as an appearance from Strong Bad on “PINK PANTS!?” Join THE AQUABATS! as they put the AWESOME! back into “THAT BAND IS… AWESOME!!”

Tickets $18 in advance, $20 in advance. Doors open at 6pm, show at 7pm. All ages permitted.

Songwriter’s Open Mic @ Eddie’s Attic

For over 19 years, Eddie’s Attic has hosted Atlanta’s premiere SONGWRITER’S OPEN MIC for the performing songwriter. National and local acts perform 2 songs each, with 3 finalists returning for a third song at the end of the evening for a chance to win a cash prize and a spot in our bi-annual, nationally acclaimed Open Mic Shootout. This is a great opportunity for up and coming talent to hone their skills and for listeners to see and meet tomorrow’s stars.

General Admission tickets are $5 in advance, $6 at the door. Table seats are $6.25 and must be purchased in multiples of 4. Doors open at 7:00 pm.

B-Side Players w/ Ojo De Buey w/ Maya Nelada  @ Smith’s Olde Bar

The B-Side Players are a 9-piece band part of a new movement in popular music. A band that honors the international cross-pollination that has always made music the universal language. They use any beat that catches their ear, regardless of geography or genre, to create a compelling, horndriven, polyrhythmic groove. They continue exploring the multifaceted grooves of Latin America and the Caribbean, incorporating the sounds of Cuba, Jamaica, Mexico and Brazil with the funk, rock, jazz and hip-hop rhythms of their homeland, dropping bits of Cumbia, Salsa, gritty street Samba, Son Montuno, Jarocho and Boogaloo into the mix.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 day of show.
