5GB With Grouplove; Playing The Masquerade Oct. 13

By Eileen Tilson

Indie rockers, Grouplove, have been very busy this year. Having toured with the likes of Florence & the Machine, the band released their first full length album, Never Trust a Happy Song, in September, and have been touring the country in support. They joined us for our 5GB series, before their show tomorrow at The Masquerade.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

I saw Frank Black play during the They Might Be Giants tour. It was just him and his guitar, it was incredible.
What is the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Sunny Day Real Estate was awesome. I saw them at Irving Plaza, and it was honestly one of the best shows I have ever seen.
What is the best gig you’ve ever played/performed at?
Our first sold out show at the Bowery Ballroom was pretty epic.  It was a very artistic show, and we ended up playing for like 115 minutes!
What gig would you most like to play? (festival or event or a location or a venue)
We actually have been fortunate enough to play at Glastonbury, which was awesome. So I think next up fro us is probably Coachella! But honestly I think the obvious venues would be pretty incredible; you know  Hollywood Bowl, Madison Square Garden, etc.
What would the line-up be at your dream gig? Who would you play with?
Hmm, probably Nirvana, the Beatles, Neil Young, Bjork, and Crazy Horse just to make things interesting.
Grouplove play with Belle Brigade in Purgatory at The Masquerade 10/13
