Arizona indie pop rockers, The Maine, are touring around the country in support of their latest album, Pioneer, and are coming to Atlanta tomorrow at The Loft. Bassist and founding member Garrett Nickelsen joined us before the show for our 5GB series.
What’s the first gig you ever attended?
Blink 182, New Found Glory, and Midtown
What is the best gig that you ever played/performed?
My favorite concert we have played was in Sao Paluo Brazil last December. I’ve never felt that much energy in my life. I’m pretty sure it was hotter than the sun.
What is the best gig you have ever seen?
A band called Cassino played at The One Place (a venue that used to be in downtown Phoenix) in 2007. I’ve never heard a band sound so good.
Gig you would most like to play?
I’m sure everyone says this but i would really love to play a show at Madison Square Garden. I’ve never been there but I hear great things.
What would be the lineup for your dream gig?
I would really love to play a show with Neil Young. He is one of the greatest artist to ever release music. If we got to play a show with him it wouldn’t matter where we were at, I’d love every second of it.
