Ethan and Uri Wurtzel, owners of Twain’s Billiards and Tap in Decatur, make a point to find ways to support their community and in 2009 with the help of Bang! Arts Management and Promotions they created SpringFest, a music festival/event fundraiser to help give back to those in need. On Saturday, May 18th Twain’s will host the 5th Annual SpringFest, benefiting the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB). 100% of the proceeds will help the Food Bank and its more than 600 partner agencies feed those who struggle to put food on their tables. The ACFB has already distributed 21% percent more food and grocery products to its partners this fiscal year, which began in July 2012.

“Being in the service industry, feeding the residents and visitors to our community, we sometimes can take the availability of food for granted. We wanted to use our talents to make a difference for those who are challenged to feed themselves and their loved ones,” says Ethan Wurtzel, owner of Twain’s Billiards and Tap. Uri Wurtzel echoes the sentiment of his brother by saying, “Homemade beer and music go so well together, and we wanted to put together a day that featured local bands for a springtime celebration. We also were looking at new ways to contribute to people in the community in need, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank’s mission made a lot of sense to us. We’re glad to be teaming up again with them for the fifth go-around!”

The day kicks off with bands playing from 3:00 p.m. until midnight. This year’s band line-up consists of a bevy of local Atlanta favorites: Gringo Star, Rolling Nowhere, Shathouse Rats, Villain Family, Uncle Daddy and The Kissin Cousins, Swingset, Factory, Muleskinner MacQueen, Donna Hopkins and Cute Boots. The festivities will begin at 3pm with doors opening at 2:30pm

Tickets for Springfest are just $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Support the ACFB and local music, get your tickets now!
