Sundy Best at Eddie’s Attic

Sundy Best crafts music that re-imagines timeless classic rock of the ‘70s and ‘80s – think the Eagles and the smart, whiskey-voiced lyrics of Tom Petty and Bob Seger. With Nick on guitar and Kris on cajon, Sundy Best takes that sound, modernizes it in their own unique way by borrowing hints of country and bluegrass, to make it personal. Offstage, the pair are lifelong friends, college athletes and dog-lovers; onstage the musical duo delivers something wholly fresh and original, blending their best influences with personal music histories.

General admission tickets are $10 in advance, $14 at the door. Table seats are $12.50 and must be purchased in multiples of 4. Online and phone sales close at 5pm day of show. Doors open at 6pm.

Colony House w/ Knox Hamilton and Special Guests at The EARL

It’s not surprising that Colony House has struck a resonant chord with listeners. The threesome maintains a balance of craft and immediacy that reflects its affinity for the sound of such alt-rock outfits as Interpol and The Killers, while echoing the influence of such alternative icons as U2 and New Order. They’ve assimilated their multiple influences in a manner that’s wholly distinctive, adding tight harmonies, strong instrumental chops and a keen melodic sensibility that’s all their own.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 on the day of the show. Online, phone, and outlet sales close at 6pm on the day of the show. Doors open at 8:30pm.

However, X Ambassadors officially solidified around 2010 after the three moved to New York City, where they met drummer Adam Levin. They released their debut EP, Love Songs Drug Songs, in 2012.

Heavenly Beat w/ Axxa/Abraxas at 529

Axxa/Abraxas is the music and art project of Ben Asbury, a 23 year old from outside Atlanta, GA. His experiences as a record collector and music obsessive from a very young age (“I got into punk in the third grade”) are easily evident in his debut release. Going full circle from being introduced to 60′s pop as a kid, through his foray into punk rock at an early age, into post-rock and Elephant Six indie, right back into 60′s Psychedelia, Ben has honed his influences (Neil Young, Television Personalities, ‘Elevators, The ‘Dead, Olivia Tremor Control) into a cohesive blend to adapt his own take on psych-influenced art-pop.

Tickets are $8. Online, phone, and outlet sales close at 6pm on the day of the show. Doors open at 9pm.

Kristy Lee with Special Guest Kristin Diable at Eddies’ Attic

That mighty rumble you hear coming out of Alabama is none other than Kristy Lee. Her voice like thunder, rolling in before a sweet southern rain, instantly washes the world away. Kristy Lee’s unique rhythms are absolutely nourishing, clean, pure, and unapologetic. By the time Kristy Lee reached 18, she landed her first album nationwide, to be sold exclusively with “Target Stores” across the states. Kristy Lee’s first album gave her an early jump on, what is now, a career. This Alabama girl can pack a house in any state. Tough luck sticking her in a category, because when it comes to writing songs, she has no limits!

Warpaint at Variety Playhouse

The most important element of Warpaint’s second, self-titled album is space. The hauntingly lovely sounds that comprise its 12 songs are punctuated by a distinct absence of sound, one that elevates the band’s music to a new place of depth and emotional poignancy. For the Los Angeles rock band crafting a second album offered an opportunity to expand the ethereal, hypnotic songs on their 2010 debut The Fool and to mirror their extensive live experience on a recording while allowing for the inclusion of more room.

Tickets are $24.50.
