AMG Weekend Picks: fun., Gentleman Jesse, Shawn Mullins, Kaiser Chiefs and More!

We’ve got a hell of a rocking weekend lined up – there are so many indie darlings, bands who have been blogged beyond belief, locals that are held tightly to our bosom, and a new British mainstay to boot, that you’ll have a tough time choosing. But not a tough time rocking out.

Thursday, March 8 – Oberhofer at The Drunken Unicorn

Signed to Glassnote Records with an album produced by Steve Lillywhite, Oberhofer has a lot going on in the cool department. Catch the act on the way up at The Drunken Unicorn tonight.

Friday, March 9 – fun. at Center Stage

With a new single featuring our hometown hero Janelle Monae, fun. is totally living up to its name. They are playing bigger and bigger venues every time they come back around to these parts, so catch them while you can.

Friday, March 9 – Gentleman Jesse and his Men at The EARL

The utterly brilliant, rock ‘n’ roll and super-cool Gentleman Jesse is back with his Men – and a new album! Celebrate the album release at The EARL on Friday.

Saturday, March 10 – Rock 100.5 Meehan’s Shamrock & Roll with Cracker at Meehan’s Sandy Springs

Get your body in tune for next week’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with a kick ass show and a few brews at Meehan’s.

Saturday, March 10 – Shawn Mullins Birthday Bash at Eddie’s Attic

Eddie’s Attic favorite Shawn Mullins plays two shows to celebrate his birthday with his nearest and dearest – and all his fans too!

Saturday, March 10 – Tennis at The EARL

We hope you got your ticket for the hippest show of the weekend, because Tennis is completely sold out! But if you missed out…

SOLD OUT!

Saturday, March 10 – Titus Andronicus & Screaming Females at The Basement at Graveyard Tavern

…then you could do a lot worse than the much-blogged, indie rock darlings doubleheadliner of Titus Andronicus and Screaming Females just a couple of buildings down at The Basement.

Saturday, March 10 – Kaiser Chiefs at The Tabernacle

We finally get to rock out with the north English post-Britpoppers, after Kaiser Chiefs had to reschedule their last show in Atlanta. Get ready for a lot of drinks, a heavy dose of catchy guitar hooks, plenty of sing-a-long choruses, and much excitement.
