The forecast might be rainy, but that doesn’t have to get you down! The music docket is filled with not only great acts, but pretty much any genre you want. Atlanta has it all. Whether you want to enjoy a relaxing night in the Atlanta Botanical Garden, or hang out with a cold beer in hand at one of your favorite small clubs like The Earl, the Drunken Unicorn or Eddie’s Attic, there’s no doubt you’ll find a killer show to attend this weekend!

Friday, August 16-Ben Deignan @ The Sound Table

This Atlanta native is getting quite a bit of hype around the area, and the hype isn’t for nothing. His rock, soul influenced music has been making the rounds in the area, and it’s just a matter of time for when he will make a break. Catch his act and support your local!

 

 

Friday, August 16-Callaghan @ Eddie’s Attic

Transplanted out of London and into the American South, into Atlanta, Callaghan has followed her music the whole way. Her debut album in 2012 was recorded here in the states, and in 2012 was named “Atlanta’s Hottest Act.” She’s touring coast to coast supporting her live album, so don’t miss as she stops back in to Atlanta!

 

 

Friday, August 16-Hunx and His Punx @ Drunken Unicorn

Hunx and His Punx aren’t your ordinary punk act. They are back with new album, “Street Punk.” The newest record has remnants of old school 80s punk with a hint of 90s thrown in as well. Friday, August 16-Today the Moon, Tomorrow the Sun @ The Earl

The indie synth-pop band based in Atlanta isn’t quite what you would expect. Their mix of light, airy vocals hit you unexpectedly, and yet you can’t help but nod your head along with the group.

Looking for a bit more country in your life? Head down to Brewhouse Music & Grill! Brett Eldredge is hot off the release of his debut studio album, and he already made his first Grand Ole Opry performance three years ago.

This is modern folk with a twist–a dark twist that is. Packway Handle Band started in Athens, Georgia and have since found national acclaim as a bluegrass group.

 

 

Saturday, August 17-The Oak Ridge Boys @ Mill Town Music Hall – SOLD OUT 

Hopefully you already have tickets to this one! The four piece band showcasing American gospel and country music is coming to Mill Town Music Hall. The group itself has been together since the 40s, and has been going ever since with new members and new ideas brought into what makes up The Oak Ridge Boys. Over 60 albums later you could say these guys have quite a bit of experience.

 

Saturday, August 17- The Whiskey Gentry with American Aquarium @ Center Stage

The British rockers will be taking over The Tabernacle with their classic singles “She Sells Sanctuary” and “Rain.” They are currently working on a new album due to be out next year.

 

 

Sunday, August 18-Ed Jurdi & Gordy Quist @ Eddie’s Attic

Given the accolade of Best New Band at the Austin Music Awards, as well as nominations at the Americana Music Awards, they are someone to keep an eye out for. These awards aren’t for nothing, so step on over to Eddie’s Attic, enjoy one of their famous burgers and take in a night of Americana.

 

 

Sunday, August 18-Roger Hodgson @ Atlanta Botanical Gardens

Formerly of Supertramp, Roger Hodgson is taking over the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. He fronted the vocals for most of Supertramp’s hits and in 97 he decided to restart his solo career once more, and released his solo album “Open the Door” in 2000. Check out his famous tenor voice for yourself!
