AMG Weekend Picks: The Elvis Show, Paul Simon, Mastodon, All the Saints and More!

Happy December everyone! This means that the Holiday Season is properly with us, so please take the opportunity to have an extra tipple, a little bit more of that cake and a lot more rock ‘n’ roll – and don’t worry about the consequences until January. Thursday, December 1 – Josh Rifkind at Smith’s Olde Bar

Atlanta’s favorite mega-rock’n’roll-charity-event-organizer Josh Rifkind does a show of his own with Justin Kerenyi and Sanjay Kothari to raise money for Songs for Kids.

Friday, December 2 – The Elvis Show at Smith’s Olde Bar

This seasonal fave (busting at the seams with Christmas cheer with two shows in one night) kicks of the holiday season in true King of Rock style.

Friday, December 2 – Paul Simon at The Arena at Gwinnett Center

The songwriting legend brings his So Beautiful or So What 2011 Tour to the ‘burbs for a well-worth-the-trek-OTP show.

Friday, December 2 – Trans-Siberian Orchestra at Philips Arena

If you want to get full on into the Christmas spirit, complete with mad pyrotechnics, then look no further that the massive sounds of Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Friday, December 2 – Mastodon at The Tabernacle

The Black Lips, Dillinger Escape Plan, Red Fang and more will be joining our favorite metal gods for what is sure to be a very, very, very loud show.

Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3 – Southern Culture on the Skids at Star Bar

If you’re looking for a bit of madness in a more intimate setting, then get yourself down to Little Five for some big hair, sweaty rock and never-ending booze, cos Southern Culture on the Skids are taking over Star Bar for the weekend.

Saturday, December 3 – All the Saints at The EARL

Get yourself a dose of slightly deranged yet spot on psychedelic rock ‘n’ roll with the ever-so-talented All the Saints, who will be playing with Hollow Stars and The Clap on Saturday night.

Saturday, December 3 – Macklemore and Ryan Lewis at The Drunken Unicorn

If you have a hankering for something a bit more socially-conscious, then go for smart rapper Macklemore. But we hope you got your tickets early because this one is sold out!
