AMG readers might recall that Dres got a shout-out from Ireland’s Rubyhorse last summer after the band was enthralled by his performance as a freestyle showdown host. Childhood friends Minamina Goodsong have wowed stages from Music Midtown to CMJ. Their new album is said to cite influences from comic books to emo. The Dropbombz Collection will feature a performance by the talented crew signed to the new Dropbomz label. We may hear some brand new tracks from Psyche Orgami whose brand new record “The Standard” is slated for a Fall release. Also performing is Collective Efforts who are known for innovative use of samples and sophisticated lyrics. | | | | | :: Friday August 12 :: | | Mieka Pauley, Taylor Hollingsworth, Variac, De Novo Dahl, Hotpipes |

Following her will be Brash Music's Taylor Hollingsworth and his signature lo-fi snarl along with Atlanta's new Joy Division-inspired darlings - Variac. However, Nashville's De Novo Dahl is undoubtedly the most buzzworthy band of the night. With appearances on famed indie radio station WOXY (97 X) and mentions in SPIN , their album Cats and Kittens , has been receiving a lot of attention. The band won the heart of famed A&R executive Clive Davis, securing them a major label deal with J Records and tours with artists like Will Hoge and Blue Merle. The rockers in Steadlur have a sound that make them primed for Warped Tour, while Rantings of Eva's melodic Brit-pop reminiscent melodies have earned them a strong fanbase in the city. Athens' energetic rockers Jet By Day, who will release their upcoming LP The Vulture on San Francisco's Future Farmer Records, are also on the bill. Trances Arc, who just played with Cake, The Caesars, and Stereophonics, will close out the night. | | 99X New Music Showcase w/ Boulevard, Elevation, Good Friday Experiment, Modern Skirts, The Whigs, Red Letter Agent |

The night will kick off with the sparkling glam-pop of Boulevard who have an affinity for British artists decked in glitter and eyeliner. Elevation follows with their own blend of well-polished pop rock. Both Good Friday Experiment and Modern Skirts delivered charismatic performances on the Local’s Stage of Music Midtown. Buzzworthy band The Whigs will have audiences shaking along to their bouncy Beatlesque beats. The night closes with the heavily 99X-championed Red Letter Agent .
