The Futurists

The AMG staff loves finding new Atlanta bands that don't suck, and dare we say - The Futurists are one of them.

After a noticeable improvement in their live show and songwriting from last year, a name change, and some time in the studio with local producer/musician Ryan McDougall, the young four piece brought a promising energetic and intense live show to this year's Open Mic Madness in October that made local music fans and industry people take note.

The band's slower songs recall the emotion and intensity of acts such as Muse and Ours. Lead singer John Lindsey's vocals are powerful, and when placed over catchy, fast paced, dance rock beats in songs like "Last Stand," The Futurists rightfully earn their name. If this is only the beginning, we can't wait to hear what is yet to come.

The Futurists will be opening Avenge Vegas' final show along with Forget Cassettes at Vinyl on Friday December 9th. They will also be a part of the Holiday Rockfest at the Masquerade on December 17th. To check out their music, visit myspace.com/thefuturists.
