March Bandness at Andrews Upstairs is a battle of the bands competition held every Wednesday night in March with some of Atlanta's most promising, upcoming acts. The musical act that ends up on top will spend their Spring and Summer rocking huge crowds at the biggest local music gigs in the area along with prizes such as studio time, gear, etc.
A limited amount of slots are still open, so if you and your band are interested in playing in front of prominent Atlanta music industry professionals and possibly winning a ton of great prizes, contact Brad Broadrick at Andrews Upstairs by emailing brad@andrewsupstairs.com. Genres of music are limited to pop, rock, alt-country, and acoustic based rock n' roll.
Jay Harren , 99X Music Director and host of Sunday School , will host the competition. Local music industry professionals will judge each round on a point scale of 1 - 10, with 10 being the highest. For every person with paid admittance, they will receive a ballot containing the names of the bands performing that evening. Each ballot will be worth 1 point towards the band's score.
The band with the most points will win the round and advance to the March Bandness "Final Four" competition. The winner of each round will be announced each Thursday morning on the 99X Toucher Morning Show during Caren West's 'Weekend Reacharound' segment.

Wednesday March 2 - Round One Winner: SCENT
Wednesday March 9 - Round Two Winner: TIM BRANTLEY
Wednesday March 16 - Round Three w/ LINE OF SIGHT
Wednesday March 23 - Round Four w/ HEAVY MOJO / THE PAPER CHAMPIONS
Wednesday March 30 - "The Final Four" Competition w/ Tim Brantley, Line of Sight, Heavy Mojo, The Paper Champions

The Final Winner Receives:
- A performing slot on the East Andrews Spring Music Festival on Sunday, April 24th
- A performing slot on the 2005 Atlantis Music Conference to be held August 10 - 13, (Atlanta, GA)
- A performing slot on the Athfest Music Conference to be held June 23 - 26 2005 (Athens, GA)
- A performing slot on the Turner South - My South Rocks Concert Series with the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field
- A performing slot on the Aquafina On the Bricks – A Concert Series in Centennial Olympic Park. (Date TBA)
- Booking consultation from Degy Booking International
