Paul Banks of Interpol DJs June 11th UPDATE- The lineup for the addVICE/Atlanta Music Guide party at the Masquerade Saturday June 11th is shaping up quite nicely. Join us as we party during Music Midtown / VIBE / Atlanta Film Festival weekend with guest DJ sets from Paul Banks of Interpol , Bloc Party , Louis XIV , The Features , and hosts DJs Kiss and Tell with bands like Keane hanging out with us all night long. Not too shabby..and the best part? It's FREE for those over 21 and only $5 for our underage friends!

99X will reveal the full lineup for the return of its Downtown Rocks free Summer concert series on the Toucher, Jimmy, & Leslie Morning Show Tuesday June 14th. The free concerts will take place in Underground Atlanta every Saturday from July 9th - August 13, starting at 7pm, followed by the official after party in Kenny's Alley until 4am. Past performers from their Summer lineup include The White Stripes, Black Eyed Peas, N.E.R.D., and more. Hopefully this year won't disappoint!

Everything is Shifting - New CD by Y-O-USeems like Friday is packed with good shows..The local rockers in Y-O-U will be playing the 10 High Friday May 20th with Avenge Vegas (this will be their last show before playing Music Midtown), 1000 Fires, and Boston singer/songwriter Mieka Pauley, who's been touring with Citizen Cope. The band's new EP, Everything is Shifting, is now available at Criminal Records and other local music stores. The band will also be having an in-store at Tower Records next Tuesday May 24th at 5:30pm with free food & a live performance. www.pleaserock.com

The 99X Miller Lite Battle of the Bands Finals are set to take place this Friday May 20th at The Loft. Local bands The Gates of Berlin , Flurish , The Good Fight , and Cypher Cell will compete to win cash prizes and the chance to play Milwaukee's Summerfest with bands like the Black Crowes, Tom Petty, and more. Atlanta's music scene is all over the "place for friends," and AMG sought to find out why Myspace has been such a powerful promotional tool for bands. Gomez will celebrate the release of OUT WEST, their first-ever live album, by joining the inaugural Zooma Tour for its first eight dates. Gomez join headliners Trey Anastasio and Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, as well as a rotating lineup of other support acts. The band plays HiFi Buys Amphitheatre on Friday June 24. The band were our featured band at the end of last year so if you haven't caught them since then, Friday's show at the 10 High should be good. Also, save the date for potentially one of the best shows in the Unplugged In The Park series this year on June 19th. The Rantings Of Eva will be playing along with Red Letter Agent. Windstorm Productions & the Variety Playhouse are bringing back the SunTrust Concerts in the Garden at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. The series is revving up for an exciting return to Midtown this summer on the Great Lawn. Artists in the series include Rufus Wainwright, Aimee Mann & Ben Lee, Dr. John, Lucinda Williams, and more. AthleteWe told you earlier that the sold-out Snow Patrol/Athlete show has been moved to the Tabernacle and that tickets are back on sale. Now we're going to tell you why you should be sure to catch the opening band. Athlete built a solid following back in England after the release of their debut Vehicles and Animals . The band are now touring in support of their latest offering, Tourist . This record proves they're no one-hit wonder, and amazing songs like 'Wires' and 'Chances' put the band up among the best of the best. Fans of Coldplay and the Doves won't want to miss them! The lovely weather in Atlanta means two things - awful allergies and the start of Summer series in the city. Check out our concert listings for the new Screen on the Green lineup in Piedmont Park and the already announced dates for Park Tavern and 99X's Unplugged in the Park series, featuring local favorites such as Clay Cook and Red Letter Agent. We'll update the schedules as more events are announced, including a the rumor that we heard about 99X's free concert series coming back....

For those of you who didn't get tickets to see Snow Patrol and Athlete at the Coca Cola Roxy before it sold out, don't fear - the show has been moved to the Tabernacle to accomodate more people. All previous tickets will be honored. Tickets for the show, which is still May 26th, go on sale this Friday April 29th at 10:00am. www.snowpatrol.net

The Lizardmen will be coming out of hibernation to play a one-off show at Smith's Olde Bar on Sunday, May, 1st. This will be a benefit for a dear friend of the band, Carlos Delrosario, who passed away last October after a long battle with cancer. His wife and little girl still need help with medical and funeral costs and the event hopes to raise a little money to go towards paying off some of that debt. It will be an early show with the doors opening at 7pm and the first band going on promptly at 7:30pm. The cost to get in is $7 with all the proceeds going to the DelRosario family. The line-up: Swiss Army (Mac Carter’s new band), Stovall (featuring Kevin Elrod, Hannibal Heredia and Mike Goldman) and The Lizardmen (still rocking!)
