Pull your pants up! - The sold out Heathen Chemistry party at Vinyl finished appropriately enough with the last guest leaving the premises after been found, pants down, passed out in toilets. The Strokes First Impressions of Earth Release ShowThe Strokes have announced that shortly after releasing their new album, First Impressions of Earth, the band will be playing a show in Atlanta at The Loft on January 9th. You can either win tickets through 99X, or only 300 tickets will be on sale at the Earthlink Live box office beginning at 10am this Thursday January 5th. Butch Walker 's "Live At Budokan" DVD is now available. The DVD features Butch's concert from the Budokan arena, backstage footage from the show, and the live concert video from 2003's "This is Me... Justified and Stripped" acoustic show at the Variety Playhouse Theatre in Atlanta. 99X's studios hosted a luncheon on Friday Dec. 9th for the Atlanta Chapter of the Recording Academy (GRAMMY®) and local music industry folk. Senior Executive Director Michele Rhea Caplinger explained the benefits of membership to a group that included managers, label reps, photographers, DJ's and producers. One thing local bands may not realize is that a NARAS membership is A) only $100 for a year, and B) a gateway to wealth of support and networking opportunites among their peers. Any members who have 6 commercially released songs can apply for a Voting Membership and even help decide who wins at the annual Grammy Awards. It's the season for giving, and Woods Entertainment & Atlanta Music Unites present the Holiday Rockfest '05 on December 17th at the Masquerade. 96 Rock's English Nick will host the event, which kicks off at 1pm and takes place on all 3 stages. Criminal Records has recently launched their CRAMJAM (Criminal Records Aspirational Music Journalism And Mentoring) program where Atlanta-area high school hopefuls can start their track to becoming jaded, cynical rock critics. The record store now publishes CD and DVD reviews from local high school students on their website, which you can check out at criminal.com.

WRAS / Album 88Georgia State University's WRAS Album 88 will be holding their annual benefit concert next Saturday December 3rd at Eyedrum. The show will feature indie favorites such as Mars ILL, I Am The World Trade Center, Deerhunter, Parker and Lily, Tenement Halls, and more. Doors are at 6pm, and tickets are $8.00.
