rock fore dough tickets Collective Soul and Hootie & the Blowfish will headline the second annual Drive for Show, Rock Fore! Dough benefit concert April 4 at the First Tee of Augusta, Georgia. Hosted by R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills, the concert will also feature performances by Better Than Ezra , Tonic's Emerson Hart and the edison project . The show falls during the annual Masters tournament at the Augusta National Golf Course. Fittingly, the concert benefits the First Tee of Augusta, which teaches young people values through the game of golf. The Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN includes a notably diverse lineup this year. With the absence of Music Midtown in Atlanta, Georgians can make the drive to see Radiohead, Beck, Elvis Costello, Bright Eyes, Deathcab for Cutie, Cat Power, The Dresden Dolls, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Dungen, Andrew Bird, and a slew of other alternative artists at the festival that was once known for its hippie/jam band draw. Rock Fight!Drummer ?Mark Cobb of Y-O-U presents Rock Fight: Bob Seger vs. Hall and Oates on February 14th at the 10 High. Austin, TX's annual SXSW Music Festival is finalizing its showcase lineup. Now in its 20th year, the festival showcases over 1,000 signed and unsigned artists from March 10 - 19. This year, Atlanta + Athens based bands scheduled to perform include The Whigs, Modern Skirts, Carbonas, Cat Power, Sean Costello, Drive By Truckers, Manchester Orhcestra, Of Montreal, Speech, The Woggles, and more. Arctic MonkeysBritain's Arctic Monkeys are poised to break several UK records with the release of their debut CD "Whatever you say I am, that's what I am not." The band were originally predicted to break the record held by Oasis for the fastest selling debut rock album. The record sold 118,501 copies within 24 hours of its release Monday, more than the rest of the top 20 album chart combined. On Saturday, February 11th, brothers and ex-Sharks and Minnows members Christopher and Devin Simony will be officially debuting their new project LEAGUE OF EVIL at The Earl. The show is 21+ and doors open at 9PM. LEAGUE OF EVIL's music is described as atmospheric, ethereal, with a strong pop sensibility; the band has been compared to The Jesus and Mary Chain and 1970's experimental rock outfit Neu!. Mogwai plays Whirlyball Atlanta on March 11th and 12thScottish rockers Mogwai have been cranking out their experimental indie rock songs for around ten years. After much acclaim and a stint on 2004's Curiosa Tour with The Cure, Interpol, Muse, and more, the band are gearing up to release their 5th album, Mr. Beast, in March. THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED Three-time Grammy winner Bruce Hornsby, along with jazz singer Francine Reed and groundbreaking drummer Sonny Emory, will be performing a special benefit show at the Hard Rock Café in Atlanta on Sat.
