The Warm-Up Show: Benefit for the Homeless - Lazarus brings together popular local musicians at the 585 for a holiday show to benefit Atlanta's homeless community, featuring a line-up of local musical acts (Nate Butler, Tova Rinah and the Way Home, Rod Michael, Senona and Micah Dalton). With the cost of admission, one donation of a used coat or blanket is required ($6 with coat or blanket, $15 without). Those in attendance should expect a party atmosphere, free beer and free giveaways from show sponsors, Octane Coffee and Ripple. All donated coats and blankets will be distributed at the annual Lazarus Christmas Dinner the following weekend. Lazarus is a ministry based out of Trinity Vineyard in Atlanta. Since November of 2000, Lazarus has worked on a weekly basis to develop consistent relationships with men and women living on Atlanta's streets. To go with friendship, Lazarus volunteers deliver food, beverages and vitamins. The ministry's self-stated purpose is to befriend the friendless – to look each man and woman on the street in the eye with respect and awareness of the dignity intrinsic to any human life. Lazarus meets to serve the homeless each Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Lazarus volunteers meet at Octane Coffee at 7:30 PM. Those volunteering on Sundays meet at 4:30 PM at Trinity Vineyard.

Date : Thursday, 14 December 2006 8:00 PM
Admission : $6 with blanket, $15 without.
Venue : The 585, 585 North Ave. NW, Atlanta, Ga. 30318
