Dixie Chick singer Natalie Maines is being sued for defamation by the stepfather of a murdered child.
Terry Hobbs' is saying that Maines defamed his character by telling people he was involved in the killings of 3 young boys, including his stepson, in West Memphis, Ark in 1993. 3 men are in prison charged with these crimes, but "new evidence" was released sparking controversy in 2007.
Natalie Maines took part in a protest in Little Rock, Ark. last year and also wrote about the evidence suggesting Hobbs' involvement on Dixie Chicks blogs.
The lawsuit is seeking undisclosed punitive damages.
