Cicada Rhythm CD Release at Eddie’s Attic

Born and raised in Georgia, this talented pair imitates and modernizes folk music to a rejuvenating degree. Their sound exhibits skilled and articulate guitar picking honed in the dive bars of Atlanta over rolling Julliard-trained bass lines. Expect chilling harmonies, unbridled enthusiasm, some wholesome tunes and a sincere performance.

Betty Who at The Masquerade- Purgatory

Betty Who blends indie and pop music into an irresistible mix of bold soundscapes, Top 40 hooks, and knowing lyrics. Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, she played cello by age four and began writing her first pop songs in her early teens. Her voice is striking and memorable, and, according to Billboard, “shimmers with a self-assuredness extremely uncommon in an unsigned artist.”

Martin Luther McCoy at Vinyl

He seamlessly traverses the soundscape of classic soul/r&b and hip hop while maintaining his singer songwriter roots. He speaks and sings from his heart and has gained a world wide audience for having one of the most engaging voices of modern times. He has toured with The Roots as a member of their ensemble and has shared stages with the likes of Jill Scott and Dave Matthews and The Red Hot Chili Peppers and many others. He made his cinematic debut as a lead in Julie Taymor’s Beatles tribute film ‘Across the Universe’ and has made cameos and appearances on both the large and small screen.

4th Ward Afro-Klezmer Orchestra with Flap at The EARL

Internationally acclaimed 4th Ward Afro-Klezmer Orchestra is a nine piece klez- funk-jazz-ensemble performing original compositions and arrangements combining West African influenced rhythms with Eastern European Klezmer melodies.

Founded in 1989, FLAP is Atlanta’s premier danger-folk duo, combining elements of country, punk, jazz and psychedelic music. FLAP uses two acoustic guitars to create unique song structures, ranging from high-speed instrumentals to spooky ballads. In 2014, FLAP releases its new CD World Of Visions. Recommended for fans of John Fahey, the Minutemen, the Wilburn Brothers and Captain Beefheart.
