Bits and Bobs: Oryx & Crake, Owl City, Robyn, Jimmy Page, Khia

Oryx & Crake + Decatur CD + King of Pops + Magic Hat Beer = We Like. The lovely local band will be playing a special instore at Decatur CD on September 11 at 4 p.m., which should raise some good cash for The Boys and Girls Club of Fulton County. And there will be pops from King of pops, beer from Magic Hat – basically a perfect start to your Saturday night.

– If you’re into Owl City, and couldn’t be bothered to see them (well, him) open for John Mayer last night, then you might need to know about this “secret” show that MySpace Music and Coke are presenting at The Loft on Sunday, September 12. Doors open at 7 p.m. and it’s all ages, so you’ll probably want to get in line pretty early. Or just stream the show on MySpace’s music blog.

– As we already announced, Robyn is playing The Buckhead Theatre on November 8. Tickets are going on sale tomorrow, Friday, September 10 at 10 a.m.

– It might seem a little pricey for a book of pictures, but keep in mind that there will only be 2500 copies of Jimmy Page’s “Moroccan leather, hand-bound memoirs” for sale, and each one will be personally signed by the ax-man himself. Still, who will be spending $685 for that? Check Paste for more details if you are interested and have that much expendable cash. And then take us out for a drink, because you just have money to burn.

– And, finally, in local used-to-be-famous news, Khia was arrested (again) in Gwinnett yesterday. The details are over on Hip Hop Crunch, if you really need any more information.
