Bits and Bobs: Yoda, Brandon Flowers, Lady Gaga, Social Distortion, Betty White

– We need to get a Tom Tom GPS. Why? Because now we can get Yoda telling us how to stay away from the dark side and reach our destination. Paste Magazine has the demo and a couple of giggle-inducing “behind the scenes” videos.

– The Killers’ Brandon Flowers sure knows how to make a video. Feature yourself (a cute rocker) sweaty and dirty, add ninjas, and get a lovely lass (Charlize Theron) to act as a true bad-ass rescuing you from various situations. Perfect. And it’s not a bad ditty either. Check it out on Stereogum.

– As we noted yesterday, Lady Gaga took over Rockefeller Center today, and seriously rocked that stage. Looking a bit more subdued than usual with a short white-blond bob and alternating between white and black suits (with a bikini top underneath, naturally), she rocked the stage with “Bad Romance,” “Alejandro” and a new piano-driven tune “You and I,” which has some Billy Joel echoes there oddly enough, not that we’re complaining. Check out the videos on The Music Slut.

– Punk rock legends Social Distortion will be playing The Tabernacle on November 10 with Lucero and Frank Turner. Tickets just went on sale this morning HERE.

– Betty White is having a good week. She just got nominated for an Emmy, and now she had a hot new calendar (see the example above) benefiting The Morris Animal Foundation based in Denver. More details are over on Neatorama.
