ICYMI: Best New Music & Video Releases This Week

Dawes – “Things Happen”

Dawes premiered the lead single from their upcoming album, All Your Favorite Bands, on David Letterman last night. “Things Happen” is a wonderfully matter-of-fact song with the same great rock and roll sound we’ve come to expect from Dawes.

Sia – “Fire Meet Gasoline” feat. Heidi Klum

While we’re a huge fan of Maddie Zieglar’s performances in Sia’s music videos, we’re refreshingly pleased to see a more adult Sia video featuring Heidi Klum. Almost as pleased as we are to see Game of Thrones actor Pedro Pascal in it as well (cue nerdy fan girl squeal).

Freddie Gibbs – “Pronto” (Warning: NSFW Explicit)

We hope you’re not afraid of snakes, because Freddie Gibbs is covered in ’em in his new video for “Pronto,” along with some almost naked ladies. Pronto is also the name of his 3-song surprise EP he released last month, all of which is pretty freaking great.

Iron & Wine – “Everyone’s Summer of ’95”

“Everyone’s Summer of ’95” is one of the tracks released on Iron & Wine’s Archive Series Volume No. 1, a compilation of previously unreleased songs that were recorded around the same time as 2002’s The Creek Drank The Cradle. The video features actor David Dastmalchian from the movie Prisoners.

Fool’s Gold – “Another Sun”

“Another Sun” is the perfect tropical Friday pick-me-up to get you in the mood for a (hopefully sunny) Spring weekend. Fool’s Gold released their new album, Flying Lessons, on vinyl on Record Store Day last weekend, and will be available everywhere May 19.
