Lynyrd Skynyrd bassist, Johnny Colt, Releases Halloween Cover Single

strychnineJust in time for Halloween 2016, current Lynyrd Skynyrd and former Black Crowes bassist, Johnny Colt, has assembled local musicians to cover the Sonics’ classic song “Strychnine.” The Sonics were a Seattle-based seminal garage band in the 60s that inspired acts from Nirvana to The Cramps to Bruce Springsteen. This special release was produced by Colt on bass and vocals, along with Ted Lathangue on guitar, Reg Rogers on drums, and Evil Jim also on guitars. Colt also shot and directed the video for “Strychnine” that will be released simultaneously. In addition to a successful career as a rock musician, Johnny Colt is also a recognized journalist and commercial developer.

All proceeds from the single will benefit Atlanta-based charity, Songs for Kids.
