Hey ${token1}, Welcome to the latest
Atlanta Music Guide newsletter. This
issue of the Atlanta Music Guide newsletter is sponsored by This
House Rocks
-
Whether
you're a band in need of rehearsal space or a kid just getting into
music, AMG's newest sponsor, This House Rocks, can help you
fulfill your rock 'n roll wish. The complete rehearsal and lessons
facility was started by the masterminds behind Camp Jam,
including Jeff Carlisi of .38 Special. This House Rocks offers
musicians a chance to meet each other and form bands, fully equipped
rehearsal spaces, music lessons for several instruments, and more. To
check them out, visit www.thishouserocks.com,
and be sure to let them know AMG sent you!

Mark
your calendars - On Wednesday
January 19th, Atlanta's music scene will have a multi-venue
benefit for the victims of the horrendous earthquake & tsunami
that devastated South Asia. Atlanta Music Unites, a new group
formed by local musicians and industry professionals, seeks to raise
donations to help everyone overseas that have fallen victim to this
tragedy. The Hard Rock Cafe' will have a silent memorabilia
auction hosted by 96 Rock & Metalsome Monday's English Nick
during their benefit show with unique, rare items from a wide range of
BIG artists, past and present (just trust us on this one!). All of the
proceeds from the auction, just like the Atlanta Music Unites shows,
will be donated to the American Red Cross.
The benefit will take
place across music venues in the city from January 16 - 20,
culminating in a grand finale concert January 20th at Earthlink
Live. Keep on checking AMG's Concerts page for a list of benefit
shows that week as they come in. Tickets for 10 High, Andrews
Upstairs, Velvet Underground, and Vinyl 's benefit
shows are available through Ticket Alternative, with the
service fee also being donated to Atlanta Music Unites. A package deal
for tickets to the finale show will also be available soon. Click
here to get your tickets and help out a great cause. For more
information, visit www.atlantamusicunites.org.
There are many
ways you can donate and make a difference - Here's a list of
just several places. We're not trying to get on our soapboxes, but
just think about how you can help people much less fortunate than you
at the moment...

Atlanta
Music Guide will be sponsoring BMI's "See
It Hear First" rock showcase Thursday February 3rd at Smith's
Olde Bar. The showcase will highlight several of BMI's most
promising Southeastern acts. Headlining the night will be Rehab,
who found success in 2001 with their modern rock hit "It
Don't Matter." Also on the bill are Atlanta's Steadlur and
Elevation, along with Charleston-based band The Young
Republicans. Come on out for a night of great music from bands
that will soon invade the airwaves. Doors are at 8:30, and the show
starts at 9:00pm. BMI-affilliated writers & publishers are
welcome to the Writer, Artist, & Industry Cocktail Reception at
7:00pm, featuring an acoustic performance from Brash Music's
newest artist, Taylor Hollingsworth. For more information,

Featured Shows Tuesday
January 18 - Razorlight, The
Features - Masquerade Everyone's
favorite new Brit imports, Razorlight, will be coming to the
Masquerade this Tuesday. The band has received a lot of airplay with
their single, "Golden Touch" on 99X recently, and their
album Up All Night is now in stores. Opening up the show will
be Tennessee natives The Features. These Southern rockers kick
ass - if you haven't had a chance to catch them yet (they've played
The EARL plenty of times & opened up for Kings of Leon at Smith's
Olde Bar), then make sure to do so.
Wednesday January 19 - Atlanta Music Unites Benefit w/ The
Californias, Family Force 5, Snowden, American Devils, GirlParts -
Velvet Underground Arrive early to this benefit show (where all
proceeds will go to Atlanta Music Unites to help out the
tsunami/earthquake victims) for the silent auction featuring items from
several internationally known acts. Then stick around for a night of
great local music for an even better cause. If Family Force 5 and
The Californias can't make you smile, then nothing
will. Get
your tickets in advance through Ticket Alternative, and the
service charge will be donated to Atlanta Music Unites as
well.
