Hey ${token1}, Welcome to the latest
Atlanta Music Guide newsletter. This
issue of the Atlanta Music Guide newsletter is sponsored by Nickel
& Dime Studios
-
Nickel
& Dime Studios is one of Atlanta's premiere recording and
rehearsal studios. Producer & studio owner Don McCollister
has worked with artists such as Sister Hazel, Indigo Girls, Third Day,
and Shawn Mullins. The studio itself has been the recording home for
many prominent local and national artists like The B-52s, Johnny Colt
of the Black Crowes, Pat Monahan of Train, Bain Mattox, Heavy Mojo,
& Y-O-U. The recording facility offers in-house mastering, a huge
live recording room, digital and analog recording, and plenty of
vintage amplifiers and equipment at an affordable rate. For more
information or to book your studio time, contact studio manager Jim

Last
week's Atlanta Music Unites benefit shows were a great success,
and it helped raise thousands of dollars for the earthquake and
tsunami victims in South Asia. Kudos to all of the bands, companies,
and people involved. Click

finale, taken by Zack Arias of Usedfilm.com.
U2 has just
revealed that the first leg of the band's Vertigo tour will
kick off March 28 in San Diego, CA. The band will be accompanied
throughout the U.S. by Kings of Leon and then head over to
Europe in June. No Atlanta date has been announced yet, but it is
expected that the band will hit more American cities with the tour's
second leg in the fall. Kings of Leon will be coming to Atlanta
prior to their opening stint March 18 at the Coca Cola Roxy with The
Features. www.u2.com | www.kingsofleon.com

Featured Shows
Friday
January 28 - Keane, The Zutons, The
Redwalls - Coca Cola Roxy After
a great performance in December at 99X's Mistle Toe Jam, Keane
will return to Atlanta tomorrow night for a sold out show. Even better
- the band is bringing two great opening acts along. The Zutons'
"Pressure Point" has invaded homes with the Levi's jeans
commercial, and people will know The Redwalls soon with their
retro sound, drawing influences from surf rock, soul, and early-era
Beatles.
Thursday February 2 - BMI's "See It Hear
First" Showcase - Smith's Olde Bar
Atlanta
Music Guide will be sponsoring BMI's
"See
It Hear First"
rock showcase next Thursday February 3rd at
Smith's
Olde Bar. The showcase will highlight several of BMI's most
promising Southeastern acts. Headlining the night will be Rehab,
who found success in 2001 with their modern rock hit "It
Don't Matter." Also on the bill are Atlanta's Steadlur and
Elevation, along with Charleston-based band The Young
Republicans. Come on out for a night of great music from bands
that will soon invade the airwaves. Doors are at 8:30, and the show
starts at 9:00pm. BMI-affilliated writers & publishers are
welcome to the Writer, Artist, & Industry Cocktail Reception at
7:00pm, featuring an acoustic performance from Brash Music's
newest artist, Taylor Hollingsworth. For more information,
check out BMI's
Showcase Page.
