HEADS
UP - Be on the lookout for the Music Midtown Afterparty
Saturday June 11th at the Masquerade (in Hell), sponsored by our
lovely friends addVICE
Marketing, Virgin Mobile, and yours truly - the Atlanta Music
Guide. Atlanta's own infamous DJs Kiss & Tell will host the night
with DJ sets from special guests Bloc Party, Carlos D (of
Interpol), Louis XIV, and more crazy surprises to be announced, along
with Music Midtown bands partying with us all night long. It's sure to be a
night of too much fun and debauchery, with a hangover we'll all remember for
a while...Stay tuned for the details!
We
told you earlier that the sold-out Snow Patrol/Athlete show has been
moved to the Tabernacle and that tickets are back on sale. Now we're going
to tell you why you should be sure to catch the opening band. Athlete
built a solid following back in England after the release of their debut Vehicles
and Animals. The band are now touring in support of their latest
offering, Tourist. This record proves they're no one-hit wonder, and
amazing songs like 'Wires' and 'Chances' put the band up among the best of
the best. Fans of Coldplay and the Doves won't want to miss
them! We'll be interviewing the band that night, so check back for that
later. But for now, you can see Part 1 of our Athlete interview
in the Features
section. For more info, visit www.athlete.mu

Tuesday
May 10, 2005 - Kasabian, Rock 'n Roll Soldiers (*please note that Mad
Action have cancelled) - The Loft - All Ages
Kasabian
(listen),
critic darlings from the UK, are embarking on their first headlining
US tour and will be bringing their electronic/Brit rock hybrid to The
Loft. Although the band is just beginning their career stateside,
this will be the only time to catch them in an intimate venue because
right after the band's Summer tour, they'll be hitting amphitheatres
across the country with their pals Oasis and Jet. Not
too shabby. Oregon's Rock 'n Roll Soldiers open the show. www.kasabian.co.uk

Saturday night. Opening up the show will be musician Scott Thomas' project Ringside
(listen).
