| Just
a Reminder to Come Out and Support Local Music This Weekend... Tonight
(Friday November 19th):
Join the Atlanta Music Guide for
a great night at Vinyl! We're starting the night off at
8:30pm with a listening party for the new Elefant
disc, complete with CDs, posters, and more giveaways! Then,
stick around for a night of incredible local music from Noisemaker's
Fife, Avenge Vegas, and
Second Shift.
But most importantly - don't forget to bring 3 cans of food (or a
$2.00 cash donation) for the Atlanta Community Food Bank! AMG is
having a food drive, and you can help the less fortunate this
holiday season by fighting against hunger in Atlanta. And
if that wasn't enough, everyone who donates will get a grab bag
stuffed with tons of CDs (from bands like Snowden, United,
Civil Circuit, Linger, & Noisemaker's Fife), stickers
(The Zutons, The Music, Yellowcard, The Swear, Y-O-U), buttons (The
Music, The Likes of Which, The Shins), and more! and....for
every 3 cans of food or $2.00 cash donation you make, you'll get a raffle ticket which
will put you in a drawing to win a pair of 99X Mistle Toe Jam tickets,
tickets to see Jem at Vinyl, a pair of tickets to any show at
10 High, Andrews Upstairs, & Velvet Underground,
a $50 gift certificate from 2-tickets.com, swag from Brash
Music artists, and a super huge
merchandise prize pack from Second Shift & Avenge
Vegas. We'll see you out and about tonight! For more
directions, etc., visit www.vinylatlanta.com.
Tomorrow
(Saturday November 20th):
Join Civil
Circuit at Vinyl tomorrow night for their event, "Birth
By Fire", as they
"celebrate the re-birth of the Atlanta
local music scene" and the release
of their debut CD, Self Damage Control. Opening up the
night will be Washington, DC based band Spectre.
Also playing are the crazy live hip hop group Heavy
Mojo (who are so good that they won an Atlanta Music Guide
Music Award for "Best Live Act") and highly energetic,
funk-punk-hip hop act Family
Force 5 (formerly known as The Phamily) can't be missed
either. It should be a great night, so come out and rock!
