Smashing Pumpkins – Never to Release a New Album Again? Say It Isn’t So!

SmasingpumpkinsSmashing Pumpkins have said that they may never release a new album again.

The band did, however, say thay had no plans to give up music or stop playing together – they were simply considering releasing music in more unconventional formats.

On the band’s official website, drummer Jimmy Chamberlin said: "Although we (Smashing Pumpkins) may not use the album or full-length CD as a format anymore, we will write and record until we are dead."

Chamberlin went on to write that he was disappointed by recent reports that the band may have considered splitting, affirming that the band were continuing as usual. Singer-songwriter-guitarist Billy Corgan and Chamberlin will be inducted into Hollywood’s RockWalk on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at noon. Corgan and Chamberlin will be honored by fans with a special ceremony at Guitar Center in Hollywood. Congrats SP!
