What’s Up Friday?

-“Here’s looking at you, kid…” Fan of Casablanca? The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is proud to present the 1940s classic in its glorious entirety on the big screens, with the Orchestra performing the memorable score, and featuring Turner Classic Movies host Ben Mankiewicz.

-Down at Centennial Olympic Park, the National Black Arts Festival is hosting three days of jazz, reggae, blues, soul and African rhythms. Featuring Orquesta Macuba, Rio Negro, Ras Kofi, Frankie’s Blues Mission, Chicago Bob Nelson, Sandra Hall The Empress of the Blues, Donnie, Julie Dexter, The Chronicle, Tribute to Gil Scott Heron, Kathleen Bertrand, Gregory Porter and Omar Sosa. The full line up is available at NBAF.org.

-Country’s tightest-pant-wearing superstar, Randy Travis will be working the crowd into a frenzy at the Cobb Energy Centre as part of his “Trip Down Memory Lane” tour. Greg Bates opens the show.

-Cocktails, Flowers, and Steve Earle, OH MY! As part of their Concerts in the Garden series, check out Steve Earle and the Dukes (and Duchesses) and Allison Moorer tonight at the Atlanta Botanical Garden.

-If you are feeling sort of retro tonight, hop over to Smith’s Olde Bar to jam out with the Please PleaseRock Me, brought to you by your good pals in Yacht Rock and YOU.

-The main rock star of tonight just might be the young Harry Potter. The final Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows premiers tonight, and I do believe there will a flock of muggles standing in line, anxiously awaiting the final show.
