Happy Monday, Atlanta! Here is what’s happening tonight in Atlanta!

Songwriter’s Open Mic at Eddie’s Attic

For over 19 years, we’ve hosted Atlanta’s premiere SONGWRITER’S OPEN MIC for the performing songwriter. National and local acts perform 2 songs each, with 3 finalists returning for a third song at the end of the evening for a chance to win a cash prize and a spot in our bi-annual, nationally acclaimed Open Mic Shootout. This is a great opportunity for up and coming talent to hone their skills and for listeners to see and meet tomorrow’s stars.

General admission tickets are $5 in advance, $6 at the door. Table seats are $6.25 each and must be purchased in multiples of 4. Online, phone, and outlet sales close at 5pm on the day of the show. Doors open at 7pm.

Yelle at The Loft

Yelle is a French band founded by lead singer and namesake Yelle (Julie Budet) and GrandMarnier (Jean-François Perrier). A third member, Tepr (Tanguy Destable), joined the band before the recording of their debut album. Budet and GrandMarnier began working on music together in 2000. The band came to prominence when it posted an early version of the song “Je veux te voir” on Myspace in September 2005, which later reached the top five in France. The success of the song on Myspace attracted the attention of a record label, which set them to work on their debut album, Pop Up, which was released in 2007. The group’s second album, Safari Disco Club, was released in 2011.

Tickets are $18 in advance, $20 on the day of show. Doors open at 7pm.

Interpol at The Tabernacle

Having first performed at Luna Lounge along with other notable bands like The Strokes, Longwave, The National and Stellastarr, they are one of the bands associated with the New York City indie music scene, and was one of several groups that emerged from the post-punk revival of the 2000s. The band’s sound is generally a mix of staccato bass and rhythmic, harmonized guitar, with a snare heavy mix, drawing comparisons to post-punk bands such as Joy Division and The Chameleons. Aside from the lyrics, their songwriting method includes all of the band members, rather than relying on any given chief songwriter.

Tickets are $42. Doors open at 6:30pm.
