Mark Rogers & Mary Byrne w/ Love Me Till My Heart Stops at The EARL

During the coldest days of January 2014, Brooklyn duo Mark Rogers & Mary Byrne recorded their debut, I Line My Days Along Your Weight, as a true duet: facing each other inches apart, intent upon listening.  They wove together archaic instruments – baritone acoustic, tricone resonator, golden-era flattop, space-age lap steel, upright piano, and hundred-year-old mandolin – into a vibrant new strain.

Allison Weiss at Masquerade (Purgatory)

Just a year ago, Allison Weiss released her sophomore studio album, Say What You Mean, to universal acclaim. To say she’s been keeping busy in that short time would be an understatement. Multiple U.S. tours including stints with Max Bemis (Say Anything), Austin Lucas, Candy Hearts and the Vans Warped Tour. Two European tours, first supporting The Front Bottoms and then Matt Pryor (The Get Up Kids, New Amsterdams). Somehow during all of that, she found the time to relocate to Los Angeles from Brooklyn. A move that certainly inspired and aided in the production of her new EP, Remember When.

Tickets are $10 in advance. Show starts at 7pmFind Tickets.

Mineral at Masquerade (Hell)

EndSerenading was the second, and final album released by Mineral. It was the definitive statement by the Austin, TX based band. So final, in fact, that the band members had actually gone their separate ways prior to the album’s release in 1998.2014 marks the bands 20th anniversary, and the first time Chris, Jeremy, Gabe, and Scott have shared the stage together in 16 years.

Tickets are $18 in advance. Show starts at 7pm. Find Tickets.

Hot Water Music at Masquerade (Heaven)

Hot Water Music is a Gainesville, Florida punk outfit known for Chuck Ragan and Chris Wollard’s raspy vocals, as well as their searing Jawbreaker-esque guitars on earlier albums. The act first formed in 1993, and their first record, Finding the Rhythms, was released on No Idea and Toy Box records. Many fans commonly refer to Hot Water Music as the abbreviation, HWM. The name Hot Water Music comes from a Charles Bukowski book.

Tickets are $21 in advance. Show starts at 7pm. Find Tickets.
