Sleepy Sun @ The Basement at Graveyard Tavern
In the six years since Sleepy Sun released the White Dove 7”, the Northern California band sometimes seemed to live the lives of a hundred bands. It’s that core, and the experiential sum of those hundred lives, that shape the band’s new songs. In the sounds of their new 7”, out October 15th via Dine Alone Records, you hear echoes of nights shared with fellows and allies like Arctic Monkeys and Black Angels…a band growing self–assured as studio presence…the elasticity and tensions of a creative brotherhood.

Tickets are $12. Online and phone sales close at 4pm. Doors open at 8:30 pm.

Quilt w/ Special Guests @ 529
When the three members of Quilt arrived in New York City in April to begin the intensive recording process for their second album, the new and aptly named Held in Splendor, they stepped directly into spring. Anna Fox Rochinski, Shane Butler and John Andrews had spent much of the previous several months clutched away at “The Puritan Garage” in Boston’s Charlestown, shielding themselves from a winter of blizzards with the haven of their practice space and a set of fresh songs.

Tickets are $10. Online and phone sales close at 6:00 pm. Doors open at 9pm.

Songwriter’s Open Mic @ Eddie’s Attic
For over 19 years, Eddie’s Attic has hosted Atlanta’s premiere Songwriter’s Open Mic for the performing songwriter. National and local acts perform 2 songs each, with 3 finalists returning for a third song at the end of the evening for a chance to win a cash prize and a spot in the bi-annual, nationally acclaimed Open Mic Shootout. This is a great opportunity for up and coming talent to hone their skills and for listeners to see and meet tomorrow’s stars.

Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Tables with 4 reserved seats are $25. Online and phone sales end at 5pm.
