What’s Up Thursday?

There is so much goodness happening tonight, if you are not out at something awesome then shame on you! Happy first of March! Let’s start this month off right and do something fun.

The number one show happening perhaps around the entire globe tonight is in Atlanta tonight, and trust me when I tell you I AM DEVASTATED THAT I AM NOT THERE. Radiohead. At Phillips Arena. Ugh.

-The Divine Ms. Diana Ross, one of the original divas is in our hometown tonight at the Fox Theatre bringing to the stage only the elegance she can.

-Did someone say we have Outlaw Country coming into town too?? Wahoo! David Allan Coe is at the Center Stage tonight keeping the twang going with Kyle Turley Band.

-For almost 20 years, every Monday night, Eddie’s Attic has been hosting a SONGWRITER’S OPEN MIC.  The event is so popular that it is booked out for almost six months!  So, they are opening another night for folks wanting to showcase their songwriting talents in front of a packed house!

Dex Romweber is nothing less than an icon of the American music underground. The former frontman for the world famous psycho-surf-rockabilly-garage-punk combo Flat Duo Jets, released his first of nine albums in 1990 to rave reviews worldwide. He starred alongside R.E.M. and The B-52s in the 1987 cult classic film “Athens, GA Inside Out.” The Dexter Romweber Duo w/ Orbo & the Longshots will be rocking it out at The Earl tonight.

-It’s gonna be a rowdy one if you feel like driving down to Athen’s 40 Watt where Camp-In Night One will be happening featuring: Cracker Duo: David Lowery & Johnny Hickman , Jonny Corndawg, and  Ponderosa.

-Augusta’s own Will McCranie has toured nationally, opened for the Goo Goo Dolls and Colbie Callait on the way, and in 2010 he recorded a song a week, every week. Go visit him at Smith’s Olde Bar tonight.

-If you really feel like being in a bad mood then head over to the Masquerade tonight where DRI, Homicidal, Death of Kings, and Sadistic Ritual will be.
