What’s Up Thursday?

Man oh man, what a week this has been! Luckily for us there are a TON of amazing shows tonight, so go out there and check one out!

-America’s favorite non-Idol, Steven Tyler is voting for himself these days, and is bringing his band, Aerosmith, to Philip’s Arena tonight with Cheap Trick.

-I discovered the quirky, wonderful music of singer/songwriter Henry Wolfe a couple of years ago, and fell in love. He is with Eleni Mandell tonight at The Earl.

-Pop-punkers UNITE! The Vans Warped Tour is back once more, bringing more skinny jeans and white belts than you can handle tonight at Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood.

The Cumberland Collective is a hodge-podge; a melting pot of various styles of contemporary music borne in the fiery belly of Music City, U.S.A. See them tonight at Eddie’s Attic.

-It’s gonna be quite the wild night at Drunken Unicorn tonight with Bunny Gang (feat. Nathen Maxwell of Flogging Molly) w/ Outlaw Nation. Also featuring Joseph Lazzari and the Lonesome Times (members of Walk From the Gallows).

Diarrhea Planet is a six-piece rock and roll band from Nashville, TN. Their sound has often been described as The Ramones holding Van Halen hostage with an arsenal of fireworks and explosives.  They are the 529 tonight.

-Bluesy cover band, Waking the Bates are at Peachtree Tavern tonight with Strange Planet.

Suite 709 launched during SXSW 2010 and has already won accolades of “Top 10 New Bands of 2010” -Chronicle Music Awards, “Best Find at SXSW 2011” -QRO Magazine, “Hot 100 Unsigned Bands of 2011” -Music Connection Magazine,  and received stellar reviews from Grammy-award winning Artist, Delious Kennedy (All-4-One), who says of the band, “I’m gonna go out on a limb and say, that in less than 3 years, this band will have secured a label deal and will be on their way to becoming a household name. -Our friends over at the Masquerade are always putting something fun together for our pretty little city. Tonight’s agenda is The Casualties, Nekromantix, Down By Law, Lower Class Brats, Flatfood 56, The Sheds.
