What’s Up Thursday?

My best friend is pregnant, and in fact is due next month…Now at my age, I understand that it is not unusual for your friends to be having babies at this time, but for me, it is MEGA weird. The funny thing is that she and her husband are Jamaican, so I find myself sitting on Google looking up gifts that fall under the category  “Bob Marley for Babies.” Growing up continues to be strange….And I continue to run against time.

Gareth Asher plays with all the cool kids in the musical sandbox, and he will be with “The Earthlings” at Eddie’s Attic tonight.

-Budding country starlet Lauren Ashley  was named the Georgia-Country Female Artist of the Year, which and has spent the last two years touring throughout the southeast and has opened for the legendary Ronnie Milsap, as well as country music sensation Luke Bryan on his 2011 Farm Tour. She’s at Peachtree Tavern.

-If you find yourself at The Earl, pop in to check out Walk from the Gallows, who is joined by Matt Woods.

-Tennessee rockers, Glossary, play a hodgepodge of American music, similar to the Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main Street or the Clash’s London Calling — records that spanned many different musical genres. See them tonight at Smith’s Olde Bar.

-“Hailing from the Motor City, Frustrations apply a somewhat avant-garde take to their explorations of deep, dark noise rock with their second album, Negative Reflections. Indiana’s the BROthers GROss, Portland’s Arctic Flowers, and locals Wymyns Prysyn and El Fossil also perform at 529 tonight.”- Creative Loafing.

-Tonight at the Masquerade, you can see Eyes Set To Kill, My Ticket Home, Awaken The Empire, Come What May.
