This Thursday in the ATL, we present a break out country star with a classic country sound, a collection of Elton-loving Atlantans, a sorcerer of soul and a couple of festival-worthy bands. Time to break out the cowboy boots and flashy shades.
Easton Corbin @ Electric Cowboy

Nashville recording artist Easton Corbin is taking country music like an eastbound storm. The Florida native is being lauded for his traditional country sound, authentic lyrics and mastery of understatement. USA Today says Easton is “a country music throwback with an easygoing, old-school style.” He is the first country male artist in years to have his first two singles reach No. 1 — “A Little More Country Than That” and “Roll With It.” See him sing these, and some other fresh diddies with an old-school twang tonight at the Electric Cowboy in Kennesaw.

ATL Collective @ Eddie’s Attic
Atlanta’s own motley musical crew the ATL Collective is back and raring to revive Sir Elton John’s 1970 concept album Tumbleweed Connection. This is the Collective’s first presentation of anything by the flamboyant and prolific knight (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight, incidentally), and we’re all pretty pumped up about it (feel a little like rocket men thinking about in fact). Mr. Nathan Angelo will curate the show, and we can think of no one better to match Elton’s intensity and energy, or his style for that matter, than Angelo and the ultra-talented Collective.

Originally from San Francisco, Geographer brings some California cool to the East Coast this fall with their sweet, synth-tastic tunes. In the past, Geographer has toured with a multitude of dreamy indie bands including (but not limited to) Foster the People, Freelance Whales, Stars and Toro y Moi. Come see them tonight and you may experience the most interesting geography lesson of your life.

Twiddle @ Smith’s Olde Bar
Twiddle, a Vermont based quartet, spins tall tales over an intricate soundscape of hi-def shred. Their fresh multi-genre approach conjures up jazz, classical, and bluegrass, but above all, masterfully blends reggae and funk. Obliterating laws of improvisation, their complex arrangements never fail to leave crowds lusting for more. With sage songwriting and unmatched variety, Twiddle’s thrilling infancy continues to exceed all expectation.
