What’s Up Tuesday 10/21

There’s a show for every music lover tonight! Keep reading to see which one is the best fit for you!

Ben Sollee at Eddie’s Attic

Musicians often claim they are “giving themselves” to their listeners, but it’s rarely as true as on Ben Sollee’s fourth album, Half-Made Man, a revealing, deeply moving album that explores a man trying to figure himself out, just as we all are. Known for his thrilling cello-playing that incorporates new techniques to create a unique mix of folk, bluegrass, jazz and R&B, Sollee possesses rough-smooth-smoky vocal stylings and a knack for intricate arrangements that has brought about comparisons to Sufjan Stevens. Sollee shares himself completely with his audience, whether it be by personal lyrics, or his commitment to the environment.

General admission tickets are $16 in advance, $20 at the door. Table seats are $20 each and must be purchased in multiples of 4. Online, phone, and outlet sales close at 5pm on the day of the show. Doors open at 6pm.

Beverly w/ On Holiday at The EARL

BEVERLY began as a recording project between Drew Citron and Frankie Rose. Although Citron grew up in San Francisco and Rose spent many years there, it wasn’t until the two were living in Brooklyn that they started collaborating. In 2012, Rose found herself in need of a musician that could travel to SXSW on short notice, and Citron found herself in the right place at the right time. Since then, Citron has been a part of Rose’s touring band. Conceived on the road, the songwriting and production reflects both Citron’s pop sensibility and Rose’s sharp ear for harmony and arrangement.

Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 on the day of the show. Online, phone, and outlet sales close at 6pm on the day of the show. Doors open at 8:30pm.
