What’s Up Wednesday?

Happy Hump Day! Here’s a few things to keep your mind out of the gutter:

-Keeping busy with side projects like Tool and Ashes Divide, the members of A Perfect Circle haven’t disappeared from the music scene during their break. The reunited band returns to Atlanta after a six years to play the Tabernacle with Japanese punk band Red Bacteria Vacuum.

-If you are looking for some girl action on your Hump Day, head over to Smith’s Olde Bar for all girl NYC rockers, Antigone Rising, whose album is about to be released August 2. Known for their vivacious live show, the girls have toured with The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, The Allman Bros, Joan Jett, and Lucinda Williams just to name a few.

-It’s always a party in Little Five Points! Join the Atlanta hipsters at the Star Bar where abby gogo will be mesmerizing the skinny-jeaned ones with their shoegazer-esque rock.

-You can always count on The EARL to fill your ears with some sort of musical history.  Hayes Carll will be gracing our town and playing new tunes that the acclaimed songwriter says are “a layman’s take on our country – a snapshot of America in some small way.” The result: the sharply drawn collection KMAG YOYO (and Other American Stories), his second release from Lost Highway.

-Ever wondered just exactly how a song actually gets added to radio? The National Association of Record Industry Professionals presents “How to Get Your Music to Radio” at the SAE Institute.
