What’s Up Wednesday?

If you live in the City of Atlanta and love music, you have absolutely NO reason not to be at one of the amazing shows going on tonight!

-It will be a night of whiskey-fueled debauchery at Aaron’s Lakewood Amphitheater tonight, as the Kings of Leon rock it out with the Band of Horses. And seeing as how they just finished touring together, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple of members of the Zac Brown Band there as well… hell, I’d be willing to bet they jump on stage!

-There is a huge neo-retro music scene happening, but head over to Chastain Ampitheater for the originals. The Temptations and The Four Tops will be doo-whopping it into the early morn.

Smith’s Olde Bar is going to set the stage for the start of the tour for new jam-band super-group, Trigger Hippy, which includes heavy hitters, Joan Osborne and Steve Gorman (Black Crowes). Make sure and check out the interview we did a couple of days ago, where Steve talks of seeing Prince in robe, at 5 a.m.

-Always ones for  putting on great shows, The Masquerade has a multitude of entertainment tonight from progressive metal band Animals as Leaders, to Kings of Leon Jr.-esque The Weeks.

-Atlanta band Turf War will be filling the air in East Atlanta at The EARL, with their southern Springsteen-influenced punk. Their debut album is expected to drop this fall on Old Flame Records.

-And last but not least! If you are just feeling like doing something a little more mellow, join the Ticket Alternative crew for our Street Food Happy Hour, in the TA parking lot. There will be food and beer (provided by Wild Heaven), and there will be music from Dave Daniels and the PTA. Check out the Facebook Invite for more info.
