Michael Magno & Morgan Rowe Band @ Eddie’s Attic

The name Magno derived from the Latin adjective magna, meaning “of greatness.” Along with his name, Michael Magno inherited the drive to become a great singer/songwriter. Michael wrote his first song at 14 and has never looked back. By today’s standards, you can compare him to the likes of David Gray and John Mayer, accented with a smooth voice reminiscent of Bono. As a Florida transplant living in Atlanta, Michael performs his acoustic rock either solo or with the help of his band mates, the Villains. His sound is a blend of rock and soul, undeniably fresh and contagious. Live performances showcase Magno’s natural abilities: his clear voice, his comfortable demeanor onstage and the undeniable conviction behind his music and lyrics. Morgan Rowe joins him tonight with her warm alto voice and sultry power pop style.

Doors at 6:30pm. Tickets are $8 in advance. Online and phone sales end at 5pm.

FEMINERGY @ The Drunken Unicorn

A fine company of female performers including Powerkompany, Eryn Woods, Suni MF Solomon and Milyssa Rose will showcase their talents at this Halftime Hip Hop party. Powerkompany’s leading ladie is a pixie engulfed by emerald waters and ancient mountains. The deep thrum of her baritone ukulele vibrates dreamily back and forth through time. Andrew Heaton is the missing piece to her creative jigsaw puzzle—towering, dusky, his leather boots stomping between guitar strums while surging electricity creates a hypnotic rhythm track. You definitely want to check ’em out.

Doors at 9pm. Tickets are $5. Online and phone sales end at 4pm.
