ryan cabreraHappy Hump Day! Wednesday is always exciting because it’s about that time when we start looking forward to our awesome weekend plans! Speaking of awesome, we have some killer shows going on tonight! The schedule may be light, but this lineup is nothing short of amazing! Check it out.

Ryan Cabrera and Jason Castro @ Eddie’s Attic

Platinum selling recording artist Ryan Cabrera picked up the guitar at the age of 16, which sparked his passion for writing music. After spending night after night in bars, clubs, and any restaurant that would take him, he landed his first record deal. By 21 he was in the studio with his mentor Johnny Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls) writing and producing his first major label debut Take It All Away. Cabrera quickly hit the road touring and hasn’t stopped since. Currently he is in the studio working on a new album.

Royal Teeth @ Vinyl

Now residing in New Orleans, Royal Teeth’s beat-centric sound is a technicolor addition to the legacy of Louisiana. Not only have they played packed shows in New Orleans and Lafayette, the latter of which saw the band sharing a bill with Mute Math, but they’ve also spread their reach to cities such NYC for last year’s CMJ Festival, This winter the band won Nikon’s “Creative Invite”, awarding them a free trip to Austin for SXSW where they performed alongside Fun. On, Act Naturally, the vocal duo of Gary Larsen and Nora Patterson provide heartfelt lyrics as the musicians travel through lavish, synth-infused soundscapes, boasting a brand all to itself that’s not quite “dance pop” and not quite electronic.

Christopher Owens (of GIRLS) @ The EARL

An American singer, songwriter, and musician, Christopher Owens is best known as the frontman and songwriter of the now-disbanded indie rock band Girls. He released his debut album as a solo artist, Lysandre, in January 2013. Lysandre could easily be mistaken as an album about a love affair and the girl Owens fell in love with. But it’s much more then that. While love inspired him to write “Lysandre’s Theme” – and the album closes with this encounter- it also tells a story: the story of a writer in a band who suddenly finds himself facing the reality of a first tour and everything that entailed; from writing alone at home, to suddenly being in a band preparing for their first out of town shows. It’s a personal account.
