What’s Up Wednesday? May 12th

john fullbrightHappy Hump Day y’all! It’s going to be a great day and an even better night! We don’t have a busy schedule this evening, but we sure do have some great shows going on. I have to take a minute to brag on my friends “Family and Friends“. Hailing from Athens, Family and Friends, haven’t been a band for long, but they sure do make you believe they are pros at this thing. They are headlining at the Drunken Unicorn tonight, and believe me, you don’t want to miss it! Check out the schedule below for more information on Family and Friends and the other awesome bands playing tonight around Atlanta!

John Fullbright @ Eddie’s Attic

With the Grammy-nominated, 2012 release of From The Ground Up, Fullbright, still in his early twenties, has joined the conversation about the best new artists in music today. Firmly rooted in a variety of musical styles, he draws on what has come before, but without imitation. Forget labels when you listen to John Fullbright. He is not folk, not Americana and not pop, but possibly the best fusion of them all.

The Dirty River Boys @ Smith’s Olde Bar

The Dirty River Boys are paving their own road as they travel it. They are a testament to the idea that “if you can dream it, you can do it,” moving with determination ever closer to the light. The new album, Science Of Flight, has been described by The Dirty River Boys as Western, Fat, and Rock and Roll. It touches on myriad emotions with gentle harmonies that shimmer with beauty, acoustic rave-ups, and hook driven tunes.
